Please Note:
Your Afghanistan SIM Card (Afghan Wireless) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.
Your Afghanistan SIM card will provide you with an Afghanistan cellular phone number, which can be found handwritten on the front of your SIM card inside your SIM card package. The number begins with 070.

Customer service for your Afghan Wireless prepaid SIM card is available by dialing 151 at any time from your cellular phone.
For emergencies while using your local Afghanistan GSM SIM card in Afghanistan please dial 112 from your cell phone.
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Afghanistan SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Afghanistan SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your cell phone.
^ Your phone will prompt you for a 4-digit PIN code, which is located on the tri-fold envelope affixed to the SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.
**When calling overseas from the United States to your Afghanistan cellular phone, callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 93 and then your Afghanistan cell phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero). To make a local call in Afghanistan: Dial 0 + area code + phone number. To call abroad from your Afghanistan cell phone simply dial 00 followed by the country code and phone number.
Domestic Calls
Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls within Afghanistan using the prepaid Afghan Wireless SIM card while you are in Afghanistan. All incoming calls on your Afghanistan cell phone regardless of where they originate are FREE.

Adding Airtime
REMEMBER: Do NOT purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime.
Service Life
Your Afghan Wireless SIM card has unlimited service life if you use your SIM card once every 6 months, that is making a chargeable call or recharging your account. If you do not do so within 6 months, your Afghan Wireless prepaid cell phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card. The 6-month period starts the day you arrive in Afghanistan. |
