A prepaid Canada Fido SIM card with an international cell phone is the most convenient and economical solution for staying in touch while in Canada. Pay the local rate for local calls and use a cellular phone in Canada like you do at home. And unlike home, your Canada SIM card and cell phone service is prepaid so there is no need for a contract.
Please Note:
Your Canada SIM Card (Fido) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 850 / 1900 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.
Activating Your Service
Your Canada SIM card will provide you with a Canada cellular phone number, which you will receive as soon as you have activated your Fido SIM card. To do so, please follow the instructions provided in the userguide.
This service requires registration BEFORE YOU TRAVEL. You will need to provide your invoice number, full name, date of birth, 20-digit SIM number and email address. Please consult our User Guide for further details.

Customer service for your Canada Fido prepaid SIM card is available by dialing 611 or 1-888-481-3436 from your Canada cellular phone.
*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Canada SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Canada SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.
**When calling from the United States to your Canada cellular phone, callers will need to dial 1 and then your Canada cell phone number. To call the US simply dial 1 followed by the area code and phone number to be connected. You can call direct to the destinations listed in the International Calls section below. For other destinations you will need a calling card with a local access number in Canada.

Domestic Calls
Domestic rates are per minute for incoming and outgoing calls within Canada from your prepaid Fido Canada SIM card while you are in Canada. There are 3 plans to choose from at the time of activation, the default plan is "30c Anytime".
Your SIM card will default to the 'Turtle' 30c Anytime plan. To change your rate plan, call customer service on 1-888-481-3436 or 611 from your mobile phone.

Making International calls from your world cell phone has never been easier with your prepaid Canada (Fido) SIM card. Calling rates are listed per minute for international outgoing calls from a Canada (Fido) SIM card while in Canada.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)
GPRS data is available with your Canada (Fido) SIM Card. WAP CSD data is charged at $0.14 USD / min.
Airtime vouchers for your Canada SIM Card are conveniently available from post offices, electronics stores, gas stations, convenience stores, drugstores and department stores. Airtime vouchers are available in the following denominations:
* CAD 10 (approx. $9.47 USD) - 30 days of validity
* CAD 20 (approx. $18.95 USD) - 30 days of validity
* CAD 30 (approx. $28.42 USD) - 30 days of validity
* CAD 50 (approx. $47.36 USD) - 60 days of validity
To add your airtime, simply:
1. Dial *868
2. Enter your 14-digit code when prompted
Your SIM card is valid for 60 days after activation without adding airtime. Each airtime denomination determines how many days are added to your validity period. Should your account remain without credit for 6 consecutive months, your phone number will be deactivated.
