Your Cyprus SIM Card (Areeba) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 / 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Cyprus SIM card will provide you with a local Cyprus cellular phone number. This number will be located with the SIM card and begins with +357.

Customer service for your Areeba prepaid SIM card is available by dialing 136 from your Cyprus cellular phone.

For emergencies while using your local Cyprus GSM SIM card in Cyprus please dial 112 from your cell phone.

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Cyprus SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Cyprus SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the Cyprus SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Cyprus cellular phone number callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 357 and then the rest of your Cyprus cell phone number. To call abroad from your Cyprus cell phone simply dial 00 ( or +) and then phone number.

Domestic Calls

Domestic rates in Cyprus are per minute for outgoing calls within Cyprus while you are in Cyprus calling from your cellular phone. All incoming calls are free, regardless of where they originate. All domestic calls are charged at CYP 0.04 (US$0.09) per minute.

SMS are charged at a rate of CYP 0.05 (US$0.12) per message.

International Calls

International rates are per minute for international outgoing calls from your Cyprus SIM card while you are in Cyprus. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE!

Your SIM card has an initial airtime credit of CYP 3.00 (approx. US$7.12). Additional credit is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload codes (not another SIM card) in Cyprus. Airtime vouchers are available locally in Cyprus at local Tabac shops, convenience stores (7-11), Areeba shops and authorized dealers. To recharge your Cyprus service, simply

Remember, once the airtime on your Cyprus SIM card is depleted, you do not need to purchase another Cyprus SIM chip, just a top-up card.

The starter pack has a validity period of 30 days. With your first top up, regardless of the amount, you will receive 12 months of validity. With every further top up you will receive a further 12 months. If you do not recharge your Cyprus service within the validity period, all outgoing calls will be barred and you have a 10-day grace period to reactivate your account. After this grace period, you have a further 90 days of incoming calls. The service, credit and Cyprus mobile phone number will expire if you do not recharge within the above mentioned validity periods.
