Your Jamaica SIM Card (Digicel) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 / 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Jamaica SIM card will provide you with a Jamaica cellular phone number, which can be found printed on the welcome page inside your SIM card package. Your Jamaica phone number begins with 876.

Customer service for your prepaid Jamaica SIM card can be contacted at anytime by dialing 100 from (free of charge) from your Jamaica cellular phone. Alternatively, you can dial 1 888 344 4235 from a landline (free of charge).

For emergencies while using your local Jamaica GSM SIM card in Jamaica please dial 112 from your cell phone.

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Jamaica SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Jamaica SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Jamaica cell phone, callers will need to dial 1 followed by your Jamaica cell phone number 876. To call abroad from your Jamaica cell phone simply dial the country code and phone number.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

If you plan on doing any data transmission in Jamaica, GPRS is a high speed data service available to Digicel prepaid Jamaica SIM subscribers. A GPRS compatible phone is required. Your prepaid Jamaica SIM card comes with an initial starter airtime credit of JMD $100 (approx. US$1.40). You can top-up your prepaid Jamaica SIM card by purchasing a top-up card (airtime vouchers), also called "FLEXcard", not another SIM card. These airtime vouchers are available from and locally in Jamaica at local tabac shops, convenience stores, Digicel shops and authorized dealers. To check the balance of your Jamaica SIM card, simply enter *120# and press �yes/ok/send�. The system will send back a message to confirm your balance and expiry date.

Remember: Do not purchase another Jamaica SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! You only need a Jamaica recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime.

If you do not recharge your account within 3 months after the expiration of the last top up card (FLEXcard) you loaded, your prepaid Jamaica SIM card will only receive calls. In order to place calls, you will need to top-up your Jamaica service. If you do not recharge for an additional 30 days, your Jamaica SIM card will automatically be terminated which means you will need to purchase another SIM card and a new number will be provisioned.
