Your Norway SIM Card (NetCom) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 / 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Norway SIM card will provide you with a Norway cellular phone number, which can be found on the back of your SIM card package. The number begins with 932.

Customer service for your Norway Startpakke prepaid SIM card is available by dialing 05050 at any time from your Norway cellular phone.

For your reference, the emergency numbers while in Norway are: 112 for Police, 113 for Ambulance, 110 for Fire

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Norway SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Norway SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^Your Norway SIM card requires a 4 digit PIN code which can be found under the black tab located under the Norway SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Norway cell phone, callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 47 and then your Norway cell phone number. To call abroad from your Norway cell phone simply dial 00 (or +) followed by the country code and phone number.

International Calls

Making international calls from your world cell phone has never been easier than with your prepaid Norway SIM card. All rates are per minute for international outgoing calls from a Norway prepaid SIM card while in Norway. Note that signing up with the Return Call Service can significantly reduce the cost of international calls.

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

Roaming is currently not available with your Norway service.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

GPRS is available with your Norway service. A GPRS compatible phone is required and the rate is 0.10 kr ($0.01 USD) per KB of data, while receiving GPRS with your Norway prepaid SIM card is always free. To activate GPRS on your Norway SIM card please call customer service on 05050 while in Norway from your Norway phone. Adding Airtime

Your Norway SIM card includes an initial airtime credit of 150 kr ($22 USD) which you may load once you arrive in Norway. Additional credit is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers, also called reload cards, not another Norway SIM card. Airtime vouchers are available while you travel in Norway at local tabac shops, convenience stores and authorized Startpakke dealers. Airtime vouchers are available in 150 KR (US$22.00), 250 KR (US$36.00), 500 KR (US$72.00) + an additional 50 KR (US$12.00) denominations. REMEMBER: Do NOT purchase another Norway SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted, you only need a Norway recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free even when you run out of airtime.

Service Life

Your Norway service has an initial validity period of 12 months. If you do not recharge your Norway SIM card account within these 12 months, your Norway SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. Every time you add additional airtime to your Norway SIM card, the validity period will be extended by a further 12 months.
