Your Portugal SIM Card (TMN) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 / 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Portugal SIM card will provide you with a Portugal cellular phone number, which can be found on the back of your SIM card package. The number begins with 9.

Customer service for your Portugal prepaid SIM card is available by dialing 1696 at any time from your Portugal cellular phone.

For your reference, the emergency numbers while in Portugal are: 112 for Police, Ambulance and Fire

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Portugal SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Portugal SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^Your Portugal SIM card requires a 4 digit PIN code. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Portugal cell phone, callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 351 and then your Portugal cell phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero). To call abroad from your Portugal cell phone simply dial 00 followed by the country code and phone number. Airtime Rates

Domestic Calls

Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls within Portugal from your Portugal SIM card while you are in Portugal. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE with your Prepaid Portugal SIM card. Calls to TMN/UZO networks EUR 0.25 (approx. US$0.37) for the first minute / EUR 0.15 (approx. US$0.22) for following minutes Calls to all other networks EUR 0.40 (approx. US$0.59) per minute SMS text messages EUR 0.15 (approx. US$0.22) per message

International Calls

International rates while you are in Portugal are per minute for outgoing calls originating from your Portugal cell phone. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE with your Portugal SIM card.

NOTE: Tariffs for Australia, Brazil and South Africa are the same to landlines or mobile numbers.

NOTE: Tariffs for Andorra, Norway and Switzerland are the same than European Union for mobiles and landlines.

Rest of Europe has the same tariff for landline and mobile numbers.

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

Roaming is currently not available with your Portugal service.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

To access GPRS, you will need to dial 12300 and choose option 1 (monthly Internet with 100 MB of traffic) for EUR 7.5 (approx. US$11)

REMEMBER: Do NOT purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! You simply need to topup your account to continue using it.

Service Life

Your Portugal service is defaulted to the plan "mimo". To keep your account active, you need to recharge your service at least once every 90 days. Failure to do so will result in a permanent termination of your account. In order to continue using your service, you will need to purchase another SIM card.
