Your Sweden SIM Card (Telenor) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 900 / 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Sweden mobile phone number is displayed through the window on the front of your SIM card packaging and begins 0709... This cell phone number may also be found on the duo-fold letter containing your SIM card.

Customer service for your Sweden Vodaphone prepaid SIM card is available 24 hours a day by dialing 221 at any time from your Sweden cellular phone.

For your reference, the emergency numbers while in Sweden are: 112 for Police, Ambulance and Fire

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Sweden SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Sweden SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^ Your phone will prompt you for a 4-digit PIN code, which is located on the duo-fold envelope affixed to the SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Sweden cell phone, callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 46 and then your Sweden cell phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero). To call abroad from your Sweden cell phone simply dial 00 followed by the country code and phone number.

Domestic Calls

Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls within Sweden from your prepaid Vodafone Sweden SIM card while you are in Sweden. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE.

International Calls

Making international calls from your world cell phone has never been easier than with your prepaid Sweden SIM card. All rates are per minute for international outgoing calls from an Sweden prepaid SIM card while in Sweden.

International SMS messages cost SEK 2.50 ($0.37 USD) each.

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

Roaming is currently not available with the Vodafone SIM card.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

With GPRS you pay for the amount of information you receive and send, at a cost of SEK .13 ($0.11 USD) per kilobyte. A SEK .50 ($0.06 USD) per call charger will also apply. Simply call 221 and ask customer service for GPRS and they will set up the parameters on your phone via SMS.

Adding Airtime

In order to add airtime to your Sweden SIM card, please follow the instructions below. You may purchase additional airtime from most convenience stores, tabac shops and petrol stations in Sweden. * Scratch off the protective layer to reveal your recharge voucher code* * Dial 220 from your own mobile phone * Follow the instructions you hear

*At your destination, you may purchase additional airtime in form of scratch cards, where you will need to scratch off the gray protective layer to reveal your recharge voucher code.

REMEMBER: Do NOT purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of airtime.

If you do not recharge your account within 12 months your mobile phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card. The 12 month period starts the day you arrive in Sweden.
