Please Note:

Your Taiwan SIM card (Vibo) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 1800 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

Your Taiwan SIM card will provide you with a Taiwan cellular phone number, which can be found on the back of your SIM card package.

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized Taiwan SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Taiwan SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^Your phone will prompt you for a 4 digit PIN code (PIN), which is printed on the card where your SIM card is detached from. The PUK is only required to unblock your cell phone if you enter the PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your international cellular phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Taiwan cell phone, callers will need to dial 011 followed by country code 886 and your Taiwan cell phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero). To call abroad from your Taiwan cell phone simply dial + followed by the country code and phone number.

For emergencies while using your local Taiwan SIM card in Taiwan please dial 110 for the Police or 119 for medical and fire emergencies from your cell phone.

Airtime Rates

Domestic Calls

Domestic calls are calls placed with your Taiwan SIM card whilst you are in Taiwan, calling a number located in Taiwan. All incoming calls, regardless of where they originate, are FREE.

* Peak Hours - 08:00-23:00, Monday through Friday, 08:00 - 12:00 Saturday.

** Off-peak Hours - 23:00 - 08:00, Monday through Friday, 12:00 Saturday through 08:00 Monday and all day on national holidays.

International Calls

International calling is available with your Taiwan SIM card. To dial an international number, please dial the following string:

* (18800 + 002) + (Country Code) + (Area Code) + (Phone Number)

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

Roaming is currently not available with your Taiwan service.

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

GPRS data is available with your Taiwan service. To activate GPRS for your SIM card, please contact customer service on 0800-580-986. You can only get day passes for data access, please see the prices below.

Adding Airtime

Your prepaid Taiwan SIM card comes with an initial starter airtime credit of NT 300 (approx. US$8.93). You can top-up your prepaid Taiwan SIM card by purchasing a top-up card (airtime vouchers), not another SIM card. These airtime vouchers are available locally at tabac shops, convenience stores, petrol stations and Vibo authorized dealers.

To check the balance on your Taiwan SIM card simply dial 747 from your Taiwan cell phone (charges may apply).

Service Life

Your initial airtime credit of NT 300 (approx. US$8.93) is valid for 30 days. You will need to recharge your Taiwan SIM card within these 30 days. As long as there is a chargeable call to your SIM card, your Taiwan service will remain active. If you do not use the service for more than 30 days, the SIM card service will be terminated. In order to continue using your Taiwan service, you will need to purchase another SIM card.

Keeping in touch while in Taiwan can be very a frustrating and expensive experience without an international cell phone and Taiwan SIM card.
