Your United States SIM Card (SIMple Calling) will require a SIM-unlocked GSM 850 / 1900 compatible international cell phone. If you do not have your own international cell phone, we have several models available for rental or purchase.

As soon as you receive your package, carefully read the enclosed Welcome Letter and User Guide. You will find your new phone number and instructions to activate it.

There are 3 ways to activate the service: online, over the phone using our self-service menu or over the phone with a Customer Service Representative.

Note: Your ability to make outbound calls in the US and Canada is hibernated 7 days after your last call in the US or Canada, however your US (1) number remains active and will receive calls and text messages for up to nine months after the last use of the service. In addition, your credit is not expired until 9 months after your last call or text message. You can re-activate US Calling in three ways: online at www.simplecalling.com, over the phone using our self-service menu, or over the phone with a Customer service representative.

Your US SIM will provide you with a United States phone number with an area code of either Boston, New York or the greater Los Angeles area.

Customer Service for USA SIMple calling prepaid SIM cards is available 24 hours a day by dialing 154 from your cellular phone (once the service has been activated).

A per minute surcharge applies when calling to certain countries. Calls to mobile prefixes of these countries incur an additional $0.35 charge. Please Click here for a full list of countries affected.

Example: The cost of a call from the US to a landline in Australia is US$0.59 for the first minute and then US$0.09 per subsequent minute of that call.

Family and friends can call you for free (Toll-free calling)

You're about to travel, but your family and friends think that since you are traveling the world it will be too hard and too expensive to call you. Toll-free calling is the answer! Toll-free calling makes it easy for family and friends to call you at no charge to them.

Here's what to do:

Your family or friends will not be charged. You will be charged a USD$0.39 per minute surcharge to receive the call.

Please note: Family and friends can only call toll free from the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany or United Kingdom. From all other countries, they need to make an international call as your United States SIMple Calling number is based in the USA.

Roaming Calls (calls placed when traveling outside of the country)

GPRS Data Rates (Wireless Internet)

GPRS is currently not available with US SIMple Calling SIM cards.

Adding Airtime

Buying more calling time is simple. Use your American Express, Mastercard or VISA card to add USD $30, $50, $100, $150 or $200 to your USA SIMple Calling SIM card account.

Service Life

You must use a charged service (such as making a call, or sending a text message), or recharge within any 9 month period, otherwise your remaining credit will expire and your US number will be removed. You can restore the expired credit by contacting Customer Service and recharging your account by a minimum of USD$30.

You must recharge minutes at least once every 15 months or your SIM card will be permanently deactivated. Access to your online account and travel journal will not be blocked.

Please note:

You can reactivate the ability to make calls in the United States and Canada in three ways: online at www.simplecalling.com, over the phone using our self-service menu, or over the phone with a Customer service representative.

* You can retain your US number indefinitely by paying 50c per month by signing into your account online, clicking on "Account Details" under "My account", and then clicking on the option to extend the life of the US number (otherwise after 4 months of inactivity your US number may be changed when you go to use it again; you will receive the new US number via text message).
